Anti-Racism
Anti Racism Committee
As part of our commitment to Anti-Racism at Brookfield, the Anti-racism committee was formed in 2021 by a group of staff and parents. It has grown to include representation from all areas of the school, including a governor, and the Brookfield School Community (PTA).
We meet every half term, and are always looking to welcome new members to the ARC who would like to join us in continuing in our journey of being an actively anti-racist school.
The Brookfield Anti-racism Committee is committed to creating a welcoming, safe, inclusive, respectful and joyful learning environmenet for all of our children. We celebrate our communities diversity, uniqueness, cultural richness and heritage so that everyone can thrive and blossom, without fear of discrimination and racism.
Our key activities and objectives fall into one of the following areas, and support our purpose statement:
- Learning and Teaching
- Staff Diversity and Inclusion
- Brookfield Families
- School Culture
- Governance
- Racist Incidents and Complaints
You can read our full purpose statement and objectives document here, which is regularly updated.

Parent Resources
We believe that parental engagement is key to our success in becoming an actively anti-racist school, and it is never too early to talk to your children about race, diversity, equality and acceptance. In addition to the resources below, the Brookfield School Community (PTA) have organised a number of Parent Carer Anti-racism workshops which are open to all parents and carers from the school community.
