Simon's Update

This week, there have been some lovely events across the school. Year 4 visited the London Mithraeum Museum in the City to experience the ruins of the ancient Temple of Mithras beneath the streets of London. It was a wonderful trip, and before they went, I quizzed the Year 4 children on their knowledge of Ancient Rome. I was blown away by their learning.

They were confidently describing Septimius Severus, the emperor who died in York, as well as Boudicca, leader of the Iceni, and her battle against the occupying Roman forces.

On Tuesday, we welcomed our governing body into school to take part in every aspect of school life. They had a great time exploring learning with the children, mucking in with the office team, and finding out more about the running of a school day.

I also wanted to say a huge thank you again to all staff, children and families for making World Book Day and the disco so much fun last week. I am so pleased the children had such a great time!

Tomorrow, we are hosting a Community Day from 10.00am until 1.00pm, so please do feel free to come in, roll your sleeves up, and get gardening. I will be making tea for all those hardy volunteers.
