Simon's Update
What a great week it’s been! We ended the week with a bit of sunshine, but my goodness, we certainly had some rain to contend with along the way. With school back in full swing, it’s been lovely to see so many amazing learning opportunities happening across the school.
Reception were surprised by a crashed UFO in their playground, sparking lots of excitement and imagination. Year 3 have been busy being artists with Alix, and their collage work is absolutely amazing. Meanwhile, Year 5 are currently working on a project for an exhibition, and their initial ideas for Curiosity Club look brilliant.
Another great week all round — and with some sunshine promised for the weekend too, it’s a lovely way to end the week!

Whole School News
Curriculum Letters
Please find below the curriculum letters for your child's year group, which will give you an overview of the term ahead, with some key reminders as well as the learning topics that children will be covering during the spring term. These can also be found on the website.
Call out for Parent Volunteer readers
We are looking for any parent and caregiver volunteers to read with children across the school. Just a short amount of time can really make a different to a child's confidence and love for reading. If you can spare some time during the school day, we would love to hear from you. No experience needed - just a willingness to listen and encourage our young readers. Please contact Alaa if you would like to volunteer or have any questions: a.lafta@brookfield.camden.sch.uk
Nursery Stay, Play & Learn Sessions
As part of our ongoing work with Camden Kids Talk, we will be running some stay, play and learn sessions in both Catkin and Blossom nursery this term. The sessions are designed to provide parents and carers with information and ideas about how to support their child's communication and language development at home.
Please see the posters below, as well as in the key dates section above for the dates of the sessions:

Saving the Planet with Brookfield
Next weekend the world’s largest garden wildlife survey will take place!
Join thousands of people across the country in the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch on the 23,24,25th January. All you need to do is spend an hour noting all the birds that you see land, and send in your results. That helps the RSPB build a vital picture of the health of bird populations, many of which are in pretty bad shape in the face of climate change and pollution.
You can find out more here: https://www.rspb.org.uk/whats-happening/big-garden-birdwatch/faqs
And Waterlow Park are joining in too! https://www.waterlowpark.org.uk/take-part-in-the-big-garden-birdwatch-23-25-january/
And if you would like to draw a picture of the birds you see, send a photo to the Climate Action Group and we'll put it in the newsletter!
