Simon's Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy New Year to you all! I hope you had a lovely holiday break and were able to enjoy some special time together.
It has been really nice to welcome everyone back to school this week. Despite the wet weather, it has been a pleasure to be back in classes, visiting the children, and hearing all about their holidays. The children have returned with a great attitude and it’s been wonderful to see the buzz of learning around the school again.
This week we are launching a new competition focused on presentation, alongside a real push on handwriting across the school. Every child from Year 1 upwards will be receiving a new handwriting book, and they will be practising daily. Over the half term, we will be recognising children with prizes for effort and progress, and we want every child to see their work as something to be proud of.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support at home — have a go asking your child to show you their handwriting and see how it compares to your own! I'm practsing too as I definitley have room for improvement!

Whole School News
Curriculum Letters
Curriculum letters will be sent out to you, and will be available in next weeks newsletter, and on the website. Curriculum letters are sent out every term to give parents and carers and overview of the learning children will be doing in each subject area that term, along with any key dates or events.
Call out for Parent Volunteer readers
We are looking for any parent and caregiver volunteers to read with children across the school. Just a short amount of time can really make a different to a child's confidence and love for reading. If you can spare some time during the school day, we would love to hear from you. No experience needed - just a willingness to listen and encourage our young readers. Please contact Alaa if you would like to volunteer or have any questions: a.lafta@brookfield.camden.sch.uk
