School Uniform
At Brookfield, we do not have a school uniform. Please see below for some important guidelines around what children can wear to school.
Please ensure that:
- Your child wears sensible clothing to school and that they are able to change in and out of for PE lessons themselves, as we encourage independence.
- In spite of our best efforts and our aprons, clothes can occasionally get spoilt, and therefore we do not recommend children wear 'special' clothing items.
- Clothes are appropriate to the weather each day as your child spends over an hour in the playground during their lunchtime
- In summer we recommend hats and a coating of sun cream before school, and we discourage bare shoulders and backs
- All clothes are labelled especially cardigans, sweatshirts and coats so we can return lost property
- Hair is tied back to avoid the spread of nits
- Any earrings worn are stud earrings to avoid ear injuries
- Children have a change of clothes suitable for PE lessons (we do have a school PE T-shirt and shorts that can be purchased at the office)
- Hats, bandanas and other headgear can only be worn in class when for religious reasons.
- No clothing is worn that contains inappropriate graphics and images.
- PE kits can be left at school in kit bags, but they must be labelled and kept clean. If your child is representing the school in a match, sports kit will be provided, but please check in advance for other items (such as shin pads, gloves etc).
